2) GURU ANGAD SAHIB JI

ਗੁਰ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੀ ਦੋਹੀ ਫਿਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਤੈ ਬੰਧਿ ਬਹਾਲੀ ॥
Guru Angad was proclaimed, and the True Creator confirmed it.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਾਇਆ ਪਲਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਲਿ ਤਖਤੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੈ ਡਾਲੀ ॥
Nanak merely changed his body; He still sits on the throne, with hundreds of branches reaching out.

(Bhai Gurdaas Ji Vaaran)

The second manifestation of Sri Akaal Purakh is Guru Angad Ji. Formely known as Bhai Lehna Ji, born on 31 March 1504 in Harike, Punjab. Prior to becoming the disciple of Satguru Nanak, Bhai Lehna Ji was a religious teacher who preached the teachings of the Goddess-oriented branch of the wider Sanatan Dharam. In his late 20s, he crossed paths with Satguru Nanak Ji and from then on became his loyal disciple.

When the time came for a new successor of the Sikhs, Satguru Nanak tested their many disciples. Bhai Lehna Ji passed the test and was given Gurgaddi (Guruship) on 7 September 1539. His name was renamed to ‘Guru Angad Ji’.

Guru Angad Ji, like Satguru Nanak Ji, further preached the importance of selfless service, devotion towards Akaal Purakh, oneness and keeping the company of saints.

Towards the end of Guru Angad Ji’s life, before the death of their bodily form, they passed the Gurgaddi (Guruship) to Guru Amar Daas Ji.
